Applus Complete Major Upgrade of UK Training Facility.
Applus will re-open their training facility in Central Scotland, on Monday 30th May after having undertaken a major upgrade.
The facility had been operating for over 7 years and is approved by a number of national training bodies, including IRATA, IOSH and Qualsafe.
It was already one of the largest training facilities specifically designed for Rope Access, Work at Height, Confined Space and Industrial Safety training in the UK.
However Applus decided to further enhance the capability of the training areas and classroom facilities, due to the continuing growth and planned diversification of our training services.
Two new classrooms have been added and an upgrade undertaken within the pre-existing classroom, thereby increasing the training facility’s capacity from 16 to 30 trainees per day.
We have also re-designed the climbing towers and added further structures within the work at height area to provide an even greater range of access training situations, whilst also enhancing the teaching environment.
In order to broaden our industrial safety training, a tubular Vessel has also been added to enable us to offer training inside confined spaces with different geometries.
Most notably we have segregated a large part of the facility for the introduction of RPAS (drone) training courses, which we will be providing from July 2016 in conjunction with the National Air Traffic Control Service (NATS). This capability will be unique to Scotland and we expect demand for this specialist training to grow steadily in line with the growth in this exciting new sector of industry.
Please make contact with us should you wish to find out more about the full range of training courses now being offered by Applus in Scotland.
